Saitek Eclipse Keyboard

When my last keyboard finally died, I picked this one. I'm really glad that I did. For gaming, nothing beats it!

I play quite a few games that require me to have low lighting on around me, so I usually turn off the lights. Well then I can't see the keyboard! This keyboard solves the problem. It has variable light settings to illuminate the keys. It's dark enough to play the game, but I can still accurately use the keyboard. Perfection.

It's also very comfortable and easy to use when I am writing quickly or just blogging.

The award-winning design of the Eclipse Keyboard features patented TrueVu key illumination, so you can easily use it in any situation, from day to darkness!

Three lighting levels - off, low, high - vary the illumination beneath the silver keys with laser-cut lettering.

Also designed for ergonomic support and comfort, the keyboard offers a Zero-Slope design and adjustable wrist rest.

A user-friendly Plug’n’Play design with USB connector is provided, so it's ready to use right out of the box.

Compatible with Windows 98, SE, ME, 2000 and XP.

You can get yours at Scientifics.

Galilea Moon Phase Clock

Any other moon phreaks out there? Well if you are one or know one, this would make a great gift. I love mine.

Here is what the website has to say:
Enjoy the beauty of Luna, Earth's only natural satellite, with a sophisticated clock that maps the moon's phases. In addition to the date and time, the Galilea's hemisphere slowly rotates over 29 1/2 days, displaying the progressive phases of the moon. Made in France. Requires AA battery, not included.

OK, that aside, it is COOL! I bought one for myself and then a few more for friends. You can get yours at X-treme-Geek

Fearless Fourteen - Janet Evanovich

Personal vendettas, hidden treasure, and a monkey named Carl will send bounty hunter Stephanie Plum on her most explosive adventure yet.

The Crime: Armed robbery to the tune of nine million dollars

Dom Rizzi robbed a bank, stashed the money, and did the time. His family couldn’t be more proud. He always was the smart one.

The Cousin: Joe Morelli

Joe Morelli, Dom Rizzi, and Dom’s sister, Loretta, are cousins. Morelli is a cop, Rizzi robs banks, and Loretta is a single mother waiting tables at the firehouse. The all-American family.

The Complications: Murder, kidnapping, destruction of personal property, and acid reflux

Less than a week after Dom’s release from prison, Joe Morelli has shadowy figures breaking into his house and dying in his basement. He’s getting threatening messages, Loretta is kidnapped, and Dom is missing.

The Catastrophe: Moonman

Morelli hires Walter “Mooner” Dunphy, stoner and “inventor” turned crime fighter, to protect his house. Morelli can’t afford a lot on a cop’s salary, and Mooner will work for potatoes.

The Cupcake: Stephanie Plum

Stephanie and Morelli have a long-standing relationship that involves sex, affection, and driving each other nuts. She’s a bond enforcement agent with more luck than talent, and she’s involved in this bank-robbery-gone-bad disaster from day one.

The Crisis: A favor for Ranger

Security expert Carlos Manoso, street name Ranger, has a job for Stephanie that will involve night work. Morelli has his own ideas regarding Stephanie’s evening activities.

The Conclusion: Only the fearless should read Fourteen.

Thrills, chills, and incontinence may result.

Once again, Evanovich delivers a great read. I love love love this series and recommend it to everyone. My friends, ranging from their 20's to their late 60's all love this series. Get your own copy of Fearless Fourteen!

Fujifilm FinePix Z10FD 7.2MP Pink Digital Camera

I needed a new digital camera. I really did. This one id great. the 7.2 MP rate is great for my purposes and the camera comes with some great modes to choose from so that I have to work really hard to take a bad picture. I especially like the setting where I can choose between natural light and the flash. It takes both photos together and I can pick which one to keep. I also really like the face recognition and stabilization modes. There is also a movie mode (with sound!) that makes it possible to record decent length movies (depending on the memory card). One of the big positives is the on board memory that allows you to take and store pictures and movies without a memory card. Of course I added the biggest one I could find and I also added an extra rechargeable battery. It comes with one but I want to have a charged one on hand at all times.

This is a great little camera to carry around with you. The color in the photo is true to the color I have. Don't worry, there are others. Blue, Green and Orange. If there had been a metallic purple, I'd have gone with that. But I have no complaints about this camera so far and have been annoying the dogs by taking pictures of them non-stop since I got it. Here is where you can get your own Fuji FinePix Camera.

Lexmark X4530 All-In-One Wireless Printer

I needed a new printer. No, this time I really did. The old one died (as opposed to running out of ink). I decided to go wireless AND get an all in one deal. I looked around and finally found a good one that wasn't expensive and it was even made by an old friend: Lexmark. I've always had really good luck luck with their products and tend to recommend them over others.

I love being wireless. I can work away on the porch and the family can suddenly be surprised because the printer starts printer my latest masterpiece.

BioKnob - Biometric Door Lock

This is one of those things I simply had to have for it's weirdness factor.

I have 3 of them. I'm REALLY weird....

Gain a whole new level of security and convenience with the BioKnob, an advanced-technology, biometric door lock shaped like an elegant doorknob.

At the center of the outside knob is a tiny sensor that registers the pattern of users' thumb or fingerprint patterns. Up to 100 users can have their fingerprints stored in the BioKnob for entry. Unobtrusive buttons and small display allow all programming and setting to be done at the lock with no external wiring or computer needed.

You never have to carry keys, or worry about losing them, you no longer have to hide keys in the yard or make key duplicates, and most importantly, there is no danger of strangers finding or stealing keys for unauthorized entry. The knob fits all doors that normally accept door knobs with latches and is extremely easy to install.

Dichroic Glass Aquarius Pendant

Every once in awhile I find something irresistible. That happened here.
I'm an Aquarius, in case you hadn't already guessed. My birthday is January 23rd, feel free to send presents.
Anyway, I found this and HAD TO HAVE IT. The glass has great depth to the colors. What exactly IS Dichroic Glass? Invented by NASA , The Glass is coated with multiple thin film layers, made by vacuum depositing a special coating onto a glass sheet. The process created a mirror like finish that reflects a specific color but when the glass is held up to the light, a different color is seen (transmitted) through the glass.
The amazing brilliance of Dichroic Glass can only be experienced first hand . The colors are very vivid, and the photos are only representation given the variances in photography and the fact that Dichroic Glass is most difficult to photograph due to the change of colors from various perspectives.

I've bought several different designs from these people and they are ALL beautiful. The customer service and shipping are also outstanding. Get yours today at Zula Surfing

RoadWired Skooba Skreener Laptop Bag

The quest: Find a laptop bag that will hold everything you need to carry, Keep everything organized and keep everything safe.

Bonus points for purple.

It took some hunting, but I found one. The Roadwired Skooba Skreener Laptop Bag.

Inside is a great sleeve to protect the laptop, plenty of space for books, pads of paper, pens, cables, discs, cellphone, ipod, earphones, paper clips, tool kit, nail file, post it notes, cigarettes, lighters, money, ID, car keys and gum.

I actually ran out of stuff to put in it before I ran out of space! It's all well organized AND the bag itself is light (it's heavy NOW....but I can't blame them). The screen print design on the front is in purple (there are other colors but like, who cares?). Life is good. Gets yours at Amazon.

USB Powered Clip-on Computer Light

Everyone but me saw this one coming. I like to work on the porch in nice weather and eventually it gets dark. This light saves the day (ok, night). It plugs into a USB port, and clips onto the laptop. It provides various degrees of light thanks to a dimmer switch. I love this little thing.
This should be considered a must-have in all laptop bags. You can get your own flylight 2.0 USB light at shoplet.

Real Voodoo Doll

This Mister is large and in charge. Or is he? You'll find that when you place the doll in your home in an area where the man in your life can see him; you're the one in control!

When your man sees the white pin in the doll's "private's", he knows he's flying right. The black pin, however, means "Look out Mister!" So, let that man know who's really in charge!

Comes complete with pins and instructions.

I have many many thoughts on this....most of them very very naughty...

I especially like the red pom poms on the doll. Very festive. I have a friend that might like this doll...though she would have to remove one of the pom poms...

Oh well, this is the real deal, an authentic Voodoo doll. They have others too...but THIS one was the one that caught my attention. I wonder why.

Anyway, get your own from Voodoo Authentica

20 Questions Electronic Game

One of my best friends got me one of these for my birthday. I have spent hours upon hours playing with it...and so has everyone else in my house. This thing is a blast and is almost always correct. I mean I was thinking of my dog and it said Pomeranian....and she IS a Pomeranian.

This is a great game for long car trips with the kids too....everyone in the car can play, even the driver.

This is inexpensive but well worth the money just for playing and having fun. It's certainly more fun than the last 3 movies I went to see...
  • Small spherical game of 20 Questions offers hours of retro fun
  • Old arcade style sound effects, and a red light display for its various questions and guesses
  • Answer the ball's questions by pressing buttons for yes, no, sometimes, or don't know
  • Requires two AA batteries (included); note that color may vary
  • Light switch for night or indoor play.

Druids Oak Journal

I like to write, obviously. But I also like to write in beautiful journals. I started collecting them more than 20 years ago and this is one of my absolute favourites. The best part of this journal is that when I'm done, I can refill it with another plain journal and keep writing. It has also aged very well. The more it has been used the softer it has gotten.

This is another item that I purchased through Gaelsong a few years ago and I'm happy to say that they still carry it. They also have other styles but this remains the one I prefer.

It's not cheap, but it is extremely well made and worth the money. It will last forever. Get yours at Gaelsong.

Plasma Ball

Creates an amazing light show - from any angle!

A little bit of science, a little bit of art, and a whole lot of cool! This Nebula Plasma Ball is simply the ultimate interactive light show. Blending specially formulated inert gases, it creates a dramatic display of light inside a hand-blown glass sphere!

Fascinating to watch, this light is even more fun to play with! Just place your fingers on the glass surface and watch as colored bolts of glowing light follow your every move. You can actually "feel" the energy as the light gently tickles your fingertips!

Featuring a super-large 8" glass sphere, the Nebula Plasma Ball can be viewed from any angle, and comes complete with its own AC power adapter and unique designer base that compliments any room. AC powered adapter included.

This is really NOT a toy. There is a protective coating on the glass. If you do drop it, and the glass breaks, the Plasma Ball is designed to stay in generally the same ball shape, without flying glass.

Simply the BEST Plasma Ball on the market today!

My mother got me one of these back in the 1980's and I still love it. Get yours at Scientifics.

Yankee Candles - Lilac Blossoms

An alluring grove of lavender, white, and deep purple lilacs. Experience the authentic, true-to-life fragrance and renowned Yankee Candle quality that have made us America's favorite. The traditional design of our signature jar candles reflects a warm, relaxed sense of style that's always at home. Convenient and easy to use, these long-burning jars provide hours of true fragrance enjoyment. They're also the ideal gift for any occasion.

I love these candles. Not only do they smell as good burning as when they are unlit, but the smell but the smell also permeates the entire house. Not heavily, just a light scent. These candles cost a bit more but last longer than other brands. I love their candle of the month deal that they have. I try a new one every month. Lilac Blossoms is my favourite spring scent. Get yours at Yankee Candles.

Iona Cross

In the worldview of the Celts, every aspect of life is understood as connected, intertwined. Celtic crosses reflect this awareness even in the most ancient of designs. This graceful cross is adapted from one found at the monastery on Iona in Scotland. Sterling silver, on an 18" chain. Measures 1 1/8" tall x 3/4" wide.

This was an Easter gift from a friend and I wear it constantly. It is absolutely beautiful and the way the way the light reflects off of it is amazing. It almost looks as though it is glowing.

My friend purchased it at Gaelsong.

As the World Churns - Tamar Myers

It has been a cold and icy week (month) here. I needed something cozy to warm me up. This book did it. This series always does it. Tamar Myers has the cozy mystery genre down pat, bless her heart.

Magdalena Yoder may finally be married to big-time Manhattan doctor Gabriel Rosen, but she's still a small-town girl at heart, and thrilled to be the emcee for the first annual Hernia Holstein Competition. As a bonus, the PennDutch and its barn are booked solid. But then someone clobbers the contest's originator, Doc Shafor, while he's admiring the cows, and both Gabe and his daughter Alison go missing. With the help of her best friend (and the hindrance of her mother-in-law), Magdalena vows to track down clues until the cows-and her family- come home.

Once again, a great series from an outstanding author. Get your copy of As the World Churns!

Planisphere Watch

Tell time while charting the night sky.

Simply align the date and time on the edge of the bezel and you'll instantly know which major constellations will be visible.

The watch features quartz movement and a "super luminescent" dial that illuminates the star chart for 2-3 hours without batteries.

Comes in an attractive tin. Note: cannot be used in Southern Hemisphere.

As a longtime astronomer, I love this watch. Not only is it useful it's a ton of fun to just play with. I recommend this to anyone looking for a unique watch or anyone into astronomy. Get yours at Scientifics.

Moon Pentacle Pendant

The feminine wisdom of the moon supports the harmony of the four elements and a balanced spirit in this moon pentacle. Artfully inscribed around its edge with these words: I am the beauty of the green earth and the white moon among the stars. Sterling silver inset with a rainbow moonstone, on an 18" chain.

OK, that's nice. But it really looks great, has great weight to it and catches the light. I love mine.

This makes a great gift for the Pagan in your life. I got mine at Gaelsong.

Lite-On 20x Super All Write LightScribe Internal DVD/Dual Layer RW Drive

I recently upgraded my desktop dvd drive to one with Lightscribe. I had seen the information on it and how the disks looked and wanted to try it myself. I love this! The disks look 1000% better done with lightscribe than with the old paper sticky labels. The only way to improve on this is for them to be able to print in full colour. But for most printing, that isn't necessary. I have no complaints.
To print a lightscribe disk, you burn the data to the disk in the normal way. The you remove the disk, turn it over and put it back into the drive for the printing. 15-20 minutes later you have a disk like the one pictured. The disks are priced right in line with other blank cd and dvd disks.
